Tomorrow’s Leaders Scholarships for Undergraduate Study in Egypt or Lebanon

The Tomorrow’s Leaders Undergraduate (TLU) Scholarships offer ambitious students from across the Arab world a life-changing opportunity to pursue their bachelor’s studies at top universities in Egypt and Lebanon. Funded by the U.S. Department of State’s Middle East Partnership Initiative (MEPI), this fully funded programme empowers a new generation of civic-minded, intellectually capable, and professionally skilled leaders throughout the MENA region.

The TLU Programme provides a comprehensive package that covers tuition fees, accommodation, health insurance, monthly stipends, textbooks, laptops, travel allowances, and civic leadership workshops. It also offers opportunities for internships, mentorship, and a semester of study in the United States, giving students first-hand experience in tackling real-world challenges.

Participants can choose from a wide range of four-year undergraduate majors at three prestigious host institutions — the American University in Cairo (AUC), the American University of Beirut (AUB), and the Lebanese American University (LAU). Applicants may indicate a preferred university but must remain open to placement at any of the three, depending on selection and admissions criteria.

Eligible applicants must be citizens or nationals of Algeria, Bahrain, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Palestine (including Palestinians residing outside the West Bank and Gaza), Syria, Tunisia, or Yemen. They must demonstrate academic excellence, leadership potential, maturity, flexibility, and financial need. Applicants should either be current high school seniors or have graduated recently (in 2024 or 2025, depending on their country). Successful candidates must be ready to begin their studies in August 2026.

The Tomorrow’s Leaders initiative aims to build a lasting community of scholars and alumni who drive positive change across the region. More than 1,200 graduates have already joined this vibrant network, contributing to business, government, and civil society leadership throughout the Arab world.

Applications are open until 25 November 2025. Candidates do not need to apply separately to host universities. All applications are submitted directly through the Tomorrow’s Leaders Programme portal, following a short eligibility screening.
