Innovation Without Borders: ICIAT 2026 Concludes at Gulf University
Gulf University has successfully concluded the proceedings of the Second International Congress on Innovation and Advanced Technology (ICIAT 2026). The virtual event was held in the presence of H.E. Dr. Diana Abdulkarim Al Jahromi, Secretary-General of the Higher Education Council (HEC), and drew broad international participation, featuring the discussion of over 1,000 outstanding research papers presented by a distinguished group of researchers and academics from around the world.
In her opening address, H.E. Dr. Diana Abdulkarim Al Jahromi emphasized that international scientific conferences serve as a cornerstone for strengthening the scientific research and innovation ecosystem. She noted that they enhance academic collaboration among higher education institutions both locally and internationally, contributing to knowledge production, the exchange of expertise, and the exploration of solutions for future challenges. She pointed out that the topics discussed align with the strategic priorities for the future of higher education, affirming that the HEC continues to support initiatives that elevate research quality, encourage innovation, and build effective academic and research partnerships in line with relevant national strategies, aspirations, global advancements, and sustainable development goals.
The congress covered several key tracks: Advanced Science, Engineering, and Technology; Digital Media, Artificial Intelligence, and Metaverse Technologies; Business, Digital Transformation, Innovation, and Sustainability; Digital Law and Technological Advancements; and Developments in Natural and Applied Sciences for a Sustainable Future. Managed under the auspices of global publishing houses Springer and Elsevier Scopus, the event also featured 56 panel discussions and seminar sessions.
On this occasion, Prof. Mohanad Al-Firas, President of Gulf University, expressed his profound pride in the success of the congress’s second edition. He noted that it reflects Gulf University’s vision of transitioning toward a digital and sustainable academic environment that supports the economic and developmental aspirations of the Kingdom of Bahrain. He praised the strategic partnership with Springer and Elsevier Scopus, while extending his gratitude to the Higher Education Council and his appreciation to all participants and contributors.
