UI GreenMetric Explores Strategic Collaboration with Google Workspace to Strengthen Digital Sustainability Initiatives

On 13 May 2026, UI GreenMetric conducted a strategic meeting with Google Workspace at Pacific Century Place Tower, SCBD, Jakarta, to explore potential collaboration opportunities in supporting sustainable development through digital innovation and institutional partnerships. The meeting focused on two main agendas: the exploration of sponsorship opportunities and discussions regarding potential Google Workspace training programs that could support institutional capacity building and digital transformation initiatives within the UI GreenMetric network.

Representing Google Workspace were Ganis Samoedra Murharyono, Strategic Partner Manager at Google for Education, and Kristiyanto, Adoption Lead at Google for Education Indonesia. Both parties exchanged insights on the growing importance of digital ecosystems in supporting sustainability governance, operational efficiency, and collaborative learning environments across higher education institutions. The UI GreenMetric delegation was led by Vishnu Juwono, S.E., M.I.A., Ph.D. , Chairperson of UI GreenMetric, accompanied by Dr. Abellia Anggi Wardani, S.Hum., M.A. , Vice-Chairperson; Rahmi, S.Hum., M.Sc., Ph.D., Manager of Operations, Data, and Service Development); Sabrina Hikmah Ramadianti, S.Si., Manager of Program, Partnerships & Communications; and Dr. Jauzak Hussaini W., S.Kom., M.T., Data & Research Coordinator.

Both institutions recognized the exponentially growing role of digital platforms the efforts towards a sustainable future. In particular, digital technologies can help in supporting communication, collaboration, data management, and invent new practices. The potential training programs discussed are expected to enhance institutional readiness in utilizing digital tools to support sustainability measurement and collaboration globally.

As sustainability challenges become increasingly interconnected with technological development, UI GreenMetric continues to strengthen partnerships with various actors that can aid in the efforts to encourage more adaptive, efficient, and data-driven sustainability practices among universities worldwide. This meeting marks an important step toward fostering future collaboration between UI GreenMetric and Google Workspace, particularly in promoting digital capacity development and supporting the broader mission of sustainable higher education transformation.
