UK university staff: please complete our survey about redundancies
Have any of your colleagues recently been made redundant by a UK university? Have you? Do you fear losing your job? What has been the effect of redundancies on departmental morale?
And if you have so far managed to escape the direct effects of the waves of redundancies occurring at UK universities, how secure do you feel? Is the worst of the storm behind us? And who is to blame for the sector’s predicament?
We would very interested to hear your experiences and perspectives on these matters in our UK Universities Redundancy Survey. Whether or not you are still employed by a UK university, and whether you are an academic or a member of professional services or support staff, we would love to hear from you. There is no requirement to reveal your identity.
If you are short on time, the multiple-choice questions can be completed in a couple of minutes. But there is also ample opportunity to add comments to answers if you wish; these may be quoted in our write-up of the poll results, which will appear in Times Higher Education in the coming months.
The more responses we receive, the more definitive and compelling a picture we will be able to present of how the redundancy wave is affecting UK university staff. So if you are or have been employed by a UK university in the past couple of years, please take five minutes to tell us how things look from where you are sitting.
