Oxford Invites Applications for the Weidenfeld-Hoffmann Scholarships and Leadership Programme

The University of Oxford is now accepting applications for the prestigious Weidenfeld-Hoffmann Scholarships and Leadership Programme, offering outstanding graduates and professionals from emerging economies the opportunity to undertake a fully funded master’s degree at Oxford. Citizens of all Arab countries, with the exception of Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates, are eligible to apply.

Established in 2015 with the generous support of André Hoffmann and the University of Oxford, the programme is managed by the Weidenfeld-Hoffmann Trust. It provides full financial support, including the payment of all tuition fees and a living allowance of at least £20,780 per year. In addition, scholars benefit from a comprehensive leadership development programme that combines mentoring, training in professional and communication skills, and access to an influential international network.

The scholarships are designed for academically outstanding candidates who demonstrate clear leadership potential and a commitment to contributing to the development of their home countries. Applicants must be applying for admission to one of over 40 eligible full-time master’s courses at Oxford. As part of their application, candidates are required to submit a Weidenfeld-Hoffmann Scholarships Statement, setting out their long-term goals and motivations for study.

Through partnerships with the Hualan Education Group in China and the UK government’s Chevening scheme, the Trust also extends further opportunities for selected applicants. Candidates for the Oxford-Weidenfeld and Hoffmann Scholarships are automatically considered for Hualan partnership awards, while separate applications are required for the Chevening-Weidenfeld-Hoffmann Scholarships.

Applications must be submitted by the deadline of the chosen course, which typically falls in December or January. The duration of study is usually one year, depending on the programme undertaken.

A spokesperson for the Weidenfeld-Hoffmann Trust commented: “The Scholarships and Leadership Programme aim to nurture future leaders who will use their education and training at Oxford to drive positive change in their communities and beyond. We are proud to support exceptional individuals in their journey to make a meaningful impact on the world.”

For more information on eligibility, participating courses, and application guidance, prospective candidates are encouraged to consult Oxford’s official graduate application.

Deadline: December 2025 or January 2026, depending on the course selected.
